ANN MORGAN
Ann came to Cumbria “temporarily” in 1988 grumbling that she never realised the M6 was so long!
She soon fell in love with the area and the people and worked for a Multiple in Whitehaven for 10 yrs before opening her practice in Cleator Moor in 1998.
Ann worked in the Low Vision Clinic in West Cumberland Hospital for 6 yrs and is training in Ocular Therapeutics at present, hoping that one day Opticians will be able to write prescriptions (like Dentists).
CONTACT USRACHAEL KINNEAR
Rachel is a ‘local girl’ having been brought up in Gosforth and attended Wyndham School. She went to Bradford University and having completed her training at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital she returned
home to Cumbria.
After working in several opticians all around the county (from Barrow to Carlisle) she worked in Whitehaven in the same place as Ann and was later delighted to join Ann’s Cleator Moor practice in 2002. For the last ten years she has enjoyed working in such a positive, friendly team and helping to provide high quality eye care to local people..
CONTACT USJANNINE McATEER
Jannine Fearon is a local girl. She grew up in Silloth and left to study Optometry at Bradford University. She returned to Cumbria to work for a small multiple before joining Ann’s practice in 2006. She is interested in all aspects of Optometry from spectacles to fitting contact lenses and is happy that the first rate equipment and care available at Ann Morgan Opticians allows monitoring of all aspects of eye health. Jannine started the Therapeutics course but had to postpone completion when her life got busier with the birth of her baby boy in 2011. She is looking forward to completing the course in the future and enjoying the new challenges and opportunities it represents.
CONTACT USTHE TEAM
I daren’t add up the years of Optical experience we have – it would make us seem so much older than we really are! Suffice it to say that for most of us Optics has been our only job and we haven’t many more 40th birthdays to celebrate!
From the moment you step through our front door you will be looked after by these friendly folk and they aim to help you through your whole optical journey.
They are highly skilled at carrying out minor repairs to frames and have been trained to carry out Digital Imaging and visual field testing. Where they shine especially is giving you the help and attention you need when choosing your frames and lenses and making sure your new specs
fit perfectly.
When they’re not at work they look after children, grandchildren (you’ll never guess which one is old enough!) and dogs and do lots of cycling and running.
